The DRAEM (pronounced dream) is an acronym for the Danish Remembrance Armenian Empathy Messenger. This experimental project is part of a series of worldwide events coinciding with the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
The urban intervention manifests itself through a 10 meter high interactive sculpture in Kultorvet square, downtown Copenhagen. The sculpture behaves as an "empathy gatherer" from all over the world by collecting virtual messages through social media. These virtual empathy messages translate into physical forms with light display and message-embedded sound that help connect residents to the city and to the people of Armenia.
