INVIVIA led the design method process and to present the case for why an inclusive design will be a good approach for Microsoft and to come up with the initial pathway to bring inclusive design to Microsoft. Our research and recommendation on design methods culminated in a series of workshops focusing on approaches to bring awareness and start transforming the giant technology-driven engineering teams into user-focused ones with an inclusive design culture.
Rethinking Disability and Understanding the Users
This project includes two parts. Part one illustrates who is excluded in the way we approach digital design and redefines our understanding of disability. Part two provides a toolkit for designing in a more inclusive and mindful way, which we propose has the potential to engender innovation and create an ecosystem of optimized products for the benefit of a wide range of ever-changing human needs.
